Due to the size of the class, we are able to offer a close supervision. The students can be in continuous interaction with both the academic and administrative staff. The students which come from different contexts may face very different challenges. Therefore, individual and close tutelage can facilitate a dynamic learning. Basic aid may be available : in case of problems with computers for example, remedial sessions with student assistants can be arranged. It is also asked to the teachers to implement regular self-assessment devices so that learners can compare themselves to matter and objectify their limits in order to rectify the situation before the formal evaluations. Finally, through the collaborative climate established in the teachings, the barriers experienced by some learners could be lifted by the learners more comfortable in the concerned matter.
The programme consists in theoretical lectures, exercises as well as group or individual assignments and presentations to the class.
At the end of the programme, the Master's thesis consists in producing an individual work which will be an integration of the several methods and concepts viewed during the year.
In this programme, we have guest lecturer from the University of Liverpool; and as part of South Lectures, we have one or two guest lecturers chosen among experts in the public health field chosen among the partner countries of the Belgian non-governmental cooperation.
After this Advanced Master it's possible to join a PhD program (at the Université Libre de Bruxelles or somewhere else)
La notion d'année d'études fait place à un système d'accumulation de crédits axé sur le programme individuel de l'étudiant. Le programme de cycle est proposé par découpe en blocs de 60 crédits.
