The Advanced Master degree in Interdisciplinary Analysis of European Integration addresses scientific and interdisciplinary issues surrounding European integration. The program for the Advanced Master in Interdisciplinary Analysis of European Integration takes place during the day, totalling 60 credits. The aim is not to introduce participants to the proposed themes but to give them the opportunity to specialise themselves and acquire new knowledge in the field of their choice, in order to train practitioners, decision-makers or future researchers in an interdisciplinary approach in all aspects of European integration. As part of this Master, courses are taught by professors from different disciplines and/or practitioners.
The programme is built upon three pillars:
A core module (25 credits) aiming to give to all students the necessary fundamental background to understand EU integration. It is made of compulsory classes determined by the jury according to the student profile. It is completed by an interdisciplinary international chair and a series of conferences. The chair is on an ad hoc thematic, chosen each year according to EU integration news while the series of conferences' objective is to make students familiar with EU and national decision-makers.
A dissertation (Travail de fin d'études - TFE) "research-oriented" or "professionalisation-oriented" (15 credits).
1) The research-oriented dissertation involves performing a research work, analysing-in-depth a question that includes theoretical and practical aspects. The exercise requires that the student synthetically presents the results of his/her research orally, and to engage in debate with members of the jury.
2) The "professionalisation" work (15 credits) combines three elements: an internship, a professionalisation seminar and an internship report. The goal of the professionalisation seminar is to help students to develop a career plan and a skills acquisition strategy to prepare them for integration in the labour market. The internship offers students the opportunity to gain professional experience in the field of European affairs. The internship report includes the analysis of an issue and seeks to deepen, with a critical eye, the observations led during the internship and link them to theoretical learning.
A thematic elective module (20 credits) whereby the courses are taught by professors from different disciplines, practitioners and national and European policy makers. Priority will be given to case studies and interactive forms of teaching.
1) Through an interdisciplinary approach and from concrete case studies, the module "Fundamental rights, norms and values in the European Union" (20 credits) examines the normative political, social and legal aspects of their production and their implications for the Union as a European political space and as a global player.
2) The module "Migrations, rights and policies" (20 credits) examines, from an interdisciplinary approach, the European and international dimension of these phenomena, focusing on the notion of borders, immigration and asylum, migration control and integration policy of migrants in Europe.
3) The module "Governance and European economic policies" (20 credits) focuses on institutional and political aspects of the new forms of European economic governance as well as the main policies of the EU, competition and trade policy.

The "professionalization" TFE ( 15 ECTS ) combines three elements: an internship, a professionalisation seminar and an intership report. The internship offers students the opportunity to gain practical work experience in the field of European affairs. The goal of the seminar is to develop a career plan and a skills acquisition strategy to prepare for integration into the labour market. The internship report includes the analysis of an issue, which aim is to deepen, with an external eye, the observations led during the internship and link them to theoritical learning.
A thematic elective module ( 20 ECTS ) whereby the courses are taught by professors from different disciplines, practitioners and national and European policy makers. Priority will be given to case studies and interactive forms of education. Through an interdisciplinary approach and from concrete case studies, the module "Europe of rights, norms and values" ( 20 ECTS ) examines the normative political, social and legal aspects of their production and their implications for the Union as a European political space and as a global player.
The module "Europe and migration" ( 20 ECTS ) examines, from an interdisciplinary approach, the European and international dimension of these phenomena, focusing on the notion of borders, immigration and asylum, migration control and integration policy of migrants in Europe.
The module "Governance and European economic policies" ( 20 ECTS ) focuses on institutional and political aspects of the new forms of European economic governance as well as the main policies of the EU, competition and trade policy.
The program aims to cultivate both theoretical and practical knowledge, the ability to have an informed analysis of a societal phenomenon and to act as a specialist, as well as a critical and ethical conscience to cultivate citizens, practitioners and decision makers with a sophisticated understanding of all areas of European affairs.

The uniqueness of the Advanced Master lies in its interdisciplinary nature and its international profile, composed of academics as well as senior officials from European and international institutions. We host professors and researchers from more than 15 countries, representing approximately thirty different nationalities. Students are thus given a deeply enriching opportunity to come into contact with a variety of identities, languages and cultures. The program aims to cultivate both open-mindedness and intellectual mobility, allowing students to evolve in an international environment.
The master offers, within its core module, a compulsory course as "Rotating international chair" where students can benefit from the intervention of a renowned member of the academic community, as well as a compulsory course shaped as a "Series of conferences on current EU affairs" where students can choose events they wish to attend and include them in their programme.
The concept of a year of studies gives way to a system of accumulation of credits based on the student's individual programme. The cycle programme is offered in units of 60 credits. The units of 60 credits are proposed as an "ideal" course of study for students enrolled in this programme.
