The Masters in Interpretation is designed to assist students who have acquired a thorough knowledge of two foreign languages, and who excel in oral communication, to exploit these capacities and become conference interpreters at international organisations as well as in the private sector.

From the outset students will be set practical exercises which call on their general knowledge, their language and communication skills, their ability to manage stress, their capacity to work at speed, as well as the efficiency of their research techniques.

The final examination takes place in front of a jury, in the presence of professional interpreters and representatives of international institutions.

During the first period of the Masters in Interpretation the focus will be on the techniques of consecutive interpretation and the quality of the student's French language expression. During the second period the emphasis will shift to simultaneous interpretation. An introduction to bi-active interpretation will also be given during the second period.

Subjects covered will be drawn from current affairs, with a focus on politics, culture, science and technology. Issues relevant to the students' internships will also be introduced.
